Canada’s new Liberal government is launching public consultations to help shape Budget 2025, expected this fall. After winning the spring election, the government is delaying the usual spring budget to take time for broader input.
From July 14 to August 28, all Canadians are invited to submit feedback at Canada.ca/YourBudget.
🔑 Government Priorities:
Tax relief: A proposed middle-class tax cut could save households up to $840/year
Housing: GST removed on new homes under $1 million for first-time buyers
Growth: More funding for infrastructure, housing, and national defense
Fiscal discipline: Cut unnecessary spending to invest in long-term nation-building
Finance Minister François‑Philippe Champagne says the aim is to “spend less on day-to-day operations and more on building a stronger economy.”
Regional consultations will be led by Minister Champagne and his team, and the government promises to consider all public feedback.
